Gardening

Ms Kavanagh and our junior gardeners were busy planting bulbs recently. Looking forward to springtime when we will see the fruits of their labours. The green fingers were out in force this week as 2nd 3rd and 4th classes planted some bulbs. Something to look forward to in the springtime!

 

Art Competition Winners

Congratulations to all of the prize winners in the Halloween Art competition organised by the Parents’ Committee, and we also had a very worthy winner in the Credit Union Art Competition organised by Baltinglass Credit Union. Well done to all entrants!

Halloween

Some very scary characters came to school in Knockananna yesterday! Great creativity and imagination shown!
Wishing all families a happy and safe Halloween midterm.

  Artists at work in Scoil Naomh Bríd! Thanks to the Parents’ Committee for organising a Halloween Art competition. We look forward to hearing the results after midterm. The judges will have a tough job!

 

End Of Year Activities

Sports and Fun Day

The weather was lovely on Thursday and Friday for lots of sports and fun activities. There was tug of war, novelty races and lots of games. One of the highlights of the week was the excitement when the jingle of the ice cream van was heard approaching the school. It was a lovely treat for everyone to end our week of activities.

Zumba

On Wednesday the children had great fun doing a Zumba class with Michaela.

Sponsored Walk

Tuesday 15 th was another busy day! 1st to 6th classes started the day with a 5k sponsored walk while Junior and Senior Infants did laps of the football field. Well done to all of our walkers and thank you to all of the sponsors.

End Of Year Activities

Dave's Jungle

Monday 14th was an exciting day for the pupils when they had a visit from Dave’s Jungle! They were treated to an exhibition of many tropical animals including a crocodile, a tarantula and a chameleon!

Book Fair

Great creativity and imagination were shown on Friday when the pupils dressed up for Book Day, to coincide with the Book Fair organised by Ms Kavanagh.

Sports

GAA

Well done to our Senior boys who played great football at the tournament on March 3rd in Baltinglass, winning the B final. Thank you to Brian and Lynda for all their work with the pupils in the past and we look forward to having them back with us soon for GAA training.

Hallowe'en

Great fun was had dressing up and carving pumpkins.

Basketball

Our basketball hoops have had two new backboards added which has been a great addition to our school yard. The boys and girls of 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th are delighted to be back with all their friends and particularly loving breaktime when they get to mix with the rest of their “bubble”.
